Naruto Live Spectacle

To start with, I'm not good at doing reviews... So, probably it would not be a good idea to write something about Naruto - The Live Spectacle! Hahaha...

But before I write about the play, I started the day with a terrible headache which was bothering me until basically half of the show, which made me angry at myself.

So, two weeks before knowing there would be the Naruto - Live Spectacle back in Malaysia for 1 day, I really thought of watching it as a birthday gift for myself. And I am so happy that I got a chance to get the program book and photo ops with a few of the main cast!

Not the best seating I had, because I was late to book a seat, but was still an awesome experience. Well, knowing the story from the anime helped me a lot understand the play which was on Japanese. Though there was English subtitles, I seldom looked at it and just enjoyed the show. I got a few glances with one mistake on the grammar and one on a spelling. But over-all the subtitles was a great help if you really don't know the story of Naruto.

Being an avid fan of Naruto, until now. Having watched most of the Naruto series, Naruto Shippuden and Naruto movies until Boruto movie, I wouldn't want to miss this opportunity to watch the play. I think I would need to watch it again in the future, probably when I visit Japan next year! ***Hoping and Praying***

-----------> So, here is my REVIEW!

The backdrop and settings was great to start with. A few clever ways to highlight special effects and use for stunts. The constant movement of the sets was a great touch without confusing the audience. Great use the curtains to show the map and how chakra works, which was also a huge part of Naruto anime.

The story-line was good, with a few dull moments. I guess because I don't like the character, so it made me feel like that. It's not because of the acting though, it would I guess be on a few lengthy lines that made it dull, which I think also was needed for the novice to understand the story. Now, talking about the subtitles again, it would should have been placed in a better position as it keeps the viewer to keep their eyes away from the scenes.

The acting was great, even the actors had got me shocked with the similar voices with the characters in the anime. I was impressed with Sasuke as the entire time he was in character (well, even on the photoshoot I had with him) but of course out of the camera he was smiling already! Hahaha... Over-all all the cast was a good fit on their characters, even Orochimaru which was played by Yu Ranma made justice to him (well, Yu Ranma is a great actress).

The stunts and action scenes was great with added special effects on point with the actors. On point acting with the special effects is really a plus, knowing that the anime have Jutsu that is impossible for a human being to do and only special effects can help with it and a few clever things that they have done, it was impressive. Rasengan, Chidori and even Kurama had an awesome touch (one as puppetry and one special effects). Other jutsu was also given highlights with other characters and made it realistic.

Of course, Naruto will not be complete with comedy and the play didn't come short with a few laughs at the play with their Kage Bunshin No Jutsu, Ino-Shika-Cho formation and when Choji expands with a freaking huge beach ball! Though it would be great with a summoning jutsu from Jiraiya.

Over-all the Naruto Live Spectacle was great! I'll definitely watch it again and would be watching the Naruto Shippuden play if there is!

MY REVIEW IS BASED ON 1 TO 5 STARS!
STAGE SET-UP - 4 Stars
PLOT - 5 Stars
DIALOGUE/SUBTITLES - 3.5 Stars
ACTING/STUNTS - 4.5 Stars
SPECIAL EFFECTS - 4 Stars
OVER-ALL - 4 Stars

-----------> The End!

So, that's my review! But before I end, I am likewise happy to have a photo ops with the main characters of Naruto Live Spectacle. *I got one more funny (but cute) photo with them was most of us where not ready for the shot* But I need to keep it private, probably I can share it with the actors if they request! Hahaha. Also, I hope in the future, I'll have a chance to have a photoshoot with other Naruto - Live Spectacle actors!
