An Empty New House!

I had no choice but to take an unfurnished room. Actually it is more of an unfurnished house, we had lousy kitchen, with a single burner stove, no counters and no refrigerator, no dining table and chairs, no heater for the shower, and no air-con in my room. What they only have are a washing machine and a small TV with a satellite dish, but the catch is, these things are owned by one of the tenants who would be leaving next week and I am not sure if he will also take these or not once he leaves the house. The only thing I love about this house is that I have the room by myself… at last privacy! Though unfurnished, it is good because I have a room by myself after a very long time… that is 6 years!

I was thinking, with an empty room I have, what are the things on my priority list?

1. Bed. I would only need a mattress, I don’t need a frame for it, I guess for now… I only need a single sized mattress…anyway I am the only one in the room. So, I would just lay it on the floor and that’s it! I have something to sleep on! Good thing I have pillows, blanket, pillow case and bed sheet!

2. Electric Fan. I can’t sleep at all in a hot room! Having no air-con, I need a fan. It’s not just an ordinary fan that I want, it is supposed be have power like an air-con, so I want a tower fan! It might just be more expensive than the normal fan, but if I can’t sleep at all with that, then it’s no use.

3. Wardrobe. With a lot of clothes, I would need a place where I can put all of it so it can look tidy and neat in my room. Now, with an empty room, I was thinking on where to hang my clothes after ironing them, I don’t even have a wire or rope to hang my clothes temporarily. I got a big problem!

4. Display Case/Storage Compartments. Aside from my clothes, I have a lot of things, like books and stuff! I would need a display case or storage compartment. It would depend whether I want to display my things or just keep it. Maybe this can wait or better yet I can look for scrap materials around my place and have them as my display case or storage.

 

As for the house, I would need the following things…

1. Internet connection. Living for years having an internet in the house, I would badly need one or else I will get really bored in here. As my house is far from the city centre, there is nothing much to do. I would need entertainment and TV would not just be enough for me. I would need facebook and open my emails regularly. Maybe a broadband! A stick!

 

2. Flat Iron and Ironing Board. I would also need a flat iron and ironing board. Though it would not stay inside my room eventually, I would need this! Unless I can go to work with crumpled clothes then it is fine with me. I just need a basic iron and a small ironing board.

3. Clothes Dryer. So, even before I iron my clothes… I would need to dry my clothes first and what I need is nifty clothes dryer. Though we have outside the house, I am sceptical to put my clothes in there as my clothes might just be flown away by the wind or get wet by rain.

4. Stove Top and Counter. I was thinking, when I start to cook, I would need these things! It’s very inconvenient for me to cook on the floor, where the single burner stove top is placed right now. Most of all, it is very unhygienic! I don’t need to buy though, I can look for something to salvage in the area.

5.  Refrigerator. Like I said, they don’t have one! Actually they just cook instant noodles, so what is the use of a refrigerator if you don’t need it anyway. But I’ll be living in the house already and I need one! I just need a small one and just maybe I can find a second hand, so it would be cheap.

6. Washing Machine. Just in case one of the tenants brings his washing machine, then there is a need for me to get it. Good thing is a colleague of mine knows where to buy cheap second hand machines and assures me that it works!

Now, when I decide to leave the house! Then what will I do with all these things? Oh well, it is a different story! Hahaha….
